Who do I contact to report a street light that is out?: The majority of street lights in Rockford's residential areas are on wood poles and are serviced by Commonwealth Edison. To request repairs to one of these street lights, please call 1-800-Edison-1. 800-334-7661. The majority of street lights located on Rockford's arterial routes are on metal poles and are serviced by City crews. To request repairs to one of these street lights, please call the Engineering Division at 779-348-7174. You may also submit an online Service Request form.

Who do I contact to request a residential street light be installed in my neighborhood?: To request a street light in a residential area, please call the Engineering Division in the Department of Public Works at 779-348-7174. Staff will investigate the situation to determine whether or not facilities are available for a street light installation.
