Rockford Area Economic Development Council – The role of the Rockford Area Economic Development Council (RAEDC) is to collaborate with regional stakeholders to cultivate opportunities for primary job growth that increase the economic well-being of our region. The RAEDC markets the region to attract new capital investment, while assisting existing business with resources for sustainable growth.
Rockford Area Convention and Visitors Bureau – RACVB is a private, non-profit organization established in 1984 to promote and champion efforts to make the Rockford Region an overnight visitor destination. The mission of RACVB is to achieve pre-eminent destination stature for the Rockford Region.
Rockford Park District – The Rockford Park District is the second largest park and recreation system in Illinois. The Rockford Park District has three times been awarded the prestigious National Gold Medal for excellence in parks and recreation management, and is a Distinguished Agency, professionally accredited for high standards and superior services. The District has 179 parks and facilities, and 4,953 acres of land.
Rockford Chamber of Commerce – The Rockford Chamber of Commerce delivers benefit to the community by leading in the promotion of economic growth, advocating for the interests of business, and providing service and educational opportunities that help our members grow.
Rockford Public Schools – Rockford Public Schools focuses on college and career readiness for its 28,700 students. It is among the largest school districts in Illinois and the second-largest employer in the Rockford region, with approximately 4,700 full and part-time employees. RPS 205 strives to be the first choice for all families.
United Way of Rock River Valley – United Way of Rock River Valley advances the common good in Winnebago and Ogle counties, creating opportunities for a better life by focusing on education, income, and health. United Way unites people and organizations that bring the passion, expertise, and resources needed to get things done. LIVE UNITED® is a call to action for everyone to become a part of the change.
Rockford Metropolitan Agency for Planning – The Rockford Metropolitan Agency for Planning (RMAP) is the Metropolitan Planning Organization for the Rockford region. By Federal law, all large urbanized areas (over 50,000 persons) are required to have an organization that plans and coordinates the decisions regarding the area’s transportation systems. All the transportation stakeholders in the area must be participants of this organization and they must agree to cooperate. The dynamic nature of transportation problems and situations necessitates that these entities conduct their work on a continuing basis; constantly monitoring the changing situations and updating their plans and improvement programs.
The Workforce Connection – The Workforce Connection, the service delivery arm of the Northern Illinois Workforce Alliance, is a partnership of state and federally funded employment and training programs, economic development agencies and educational entities committed to providing a workforce that meets the needs of our business community, now and in the future.
Neighborhood Network of Rockford – The Neighborhood Network of Rockford supports and provides training and technical assistance to neighborhood associations and neighborhood watch groups. Neighborhood Network works with area neighborhoods, and the people within them, to provide training, technical assistance and improved access to area resources so that we can all get together to make Rockford a better place.
