Color Guard

The Rockford Fire Department Color Guard represents both the Fire Department and the Firefighter’s Union Local 413. The guard is comprised of 13 members who dedicate themselves to drill and ceremony etiquette while presenting the colors of the United States of America, the State of Illinois, the City of Rockford, and Local 413. The members also provide service as an honor guard in the event of an active firefighter or retired firefighter’s passing.

Mission Statement

The mission of the Rockford Fire Department Color Guard shall be: To provide distinguished representation of the Rockford Fire Department and Firefighters Local 413 at events int he community or other locations as requested. We will convey a commitment to excellence when presenting the colors and the Flag of the United States in a respectful and military manner. To provide a dignified Honor Guard for fallen firefighters, their surviving family members, and union brothers and sisters through an organization of an participation in funeral and memorial services.
