Head Start is a federally funded program. It is based on the premise that all children share certain needs and that they can benefit from a program designed specifically to meet those needs. Head Start is an Equal Opportunity Program. All children are treated fairly and no child will be discriminated against because of race, religion, handicap, sex, age, or national origin. Head Start services are free to enrolled families. If you would like more information on the Head Start Program please call 779.348.7169 or by e-mail at Head Start Divison.
Each family must complete an application packet. At the time of application, parent(s) must present proof of income, child’s birth certificate and child’s social security card.
Children are selected for placement in Head Start based on priority selection criteria. Family income and age will be the primary factor when considering children for selection.
