On Thursday, July 18, 2019, shortly before 4:30 pm, Rockford Police officers responded to the area 1800 S. Mulford Road, in reference to a single motorcycle crash. Upon arrival, officers learned the 58-year-old male driver was traveling north bound on Mulford Road when he lost control. The victim was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. This is an on-going investigation. No further information is available at this time.

Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm – 100 Vale Ave North

On Monday July 8, 2019 at about 11:50 PM Rockford Police responded to the 100 block of Vale Avenue North in reference to shots fired.  Officers located spent shell casings in the roadway and learned a home in the 100 block of Vale Avenue North was struck by gunfire.  This is an active and ongoing investigation.  Anyone with information is encouraged to contact Rockford Police at (815) 966-2900 or Rockford Area Crimestoppers at (815) 963-STOP (7867).

Aggravated Battery with Firearm-Broadmoor Dr. and Hunter Ave.

On July 8th, 2019 at 1:10 pm, members of the Rockford Police Department responded to the area of Hunter Ave. and Broadmor Drive for a report of gunshots. Upon arrival officers located broken glass and spent bullet casings near this intersection. A short time later, a male Rockford resident walked into an undisclosed Rockford hospital suffering from multiple gunshots. The victim said he was driving when the suspect vehicle pulled up and started shooting at his vehicle. The male’s vehicle was also occupied by (3) young children and a female adult. The male’s injuries were non life threatening. The investigation is still ongoing.
