On 7/18/2018, at around 10:00PM, Officers from the Rockford Police Department were dispatched to the Savoy Lounge, 3929 Broadway, in regards to an Armed Robbery to the business.  Officers met with an employee and several customers, who reported that two suspects entered the bar, displayed handguns, and demanded money from the bartender.  The suspects obtained a small amount of money from the business and from one of the patrons.

No injuries requiring medical attention were reported.

The suspects were described as follows:

#1  Black male, unknown age, 6’00” 190lbs, wearing all dark clothing, including a mask.

#2  Black male, unknown age, 5’10” 150lbs, wearing all dark clothing, including a mask.

Both suspects were armed with handguns.

Arrest Warrant-1300 Revell Ave

On Tuesday, July 17, 2018 officers of the Rockford Police Department executed an arrest warrant for Rashund Marks at 1300 Revell Ave. During the course of the arrest, Marks fled from officers and eventually crashed in the area of 900 N. Main St. Marks was taken into custody and no injuries were reported. This is an on going investigation.

Aggravated Battery with a Firearm

On 7-5-2018 at approximately 1:01 AM Officers from the Rockford Police Department responded to Rockford Memorial Hospital reference to a walk-in gunshot victim. Officers met with the victim who stated he was driving near the intersection of Ridge Av. & Paradise Blvd. looking for a friend’s house when he was approached by two younger black males, late teens, one taller than the other (unable to provide further description) . The victim stated the one of the suspects pulled a handgun and pointed it at him and stated it was a robbery. The victim stated he accelerated away from the suspects and the suspect fired one round from the handgun. The victim was struck in the upper chest and he drove himself to the hospital for treatment for a non-life threatening injury.
