ARMED ROBBERY–3205 AUBURN STREET

At approximately 1247 hours, Rockford Police Officers responded to 3205 Auburn Street (Auburn Food Mart) reference an armed robbery to the business.   The preliminary investigation indicated that a black male, 20’s, 6’00”, 130lbs, short braids, red/white Bulls jacket, black jeans, armed with a handgun–entered the store and demanded money and cigarettes.  The suspect left with an undisclosed amount of USC, and was seen fleeing the area in red, older model Chevy Trailblazer with tinted windows.  Anyone with information reference this incident is encouraged to call the Rockford Police Department or CrimeStoppers.   

HOME INVASION-1500 MAGNOLIA ST

On 11/21/17 at 6:15 AM hours officers with the Rockford Police Department responded to the 1500 block of Magnolia St. to investigate a report of a Home Invasion. Upon arrival officers spoke to an 18 year old black female victim. The victim said her back door of her apartment was kicked in around 4:30 AM and two, mid 20 year old, black males entered her apartment. One suspect demanded property from her and brandished a handgun. The suspects fled the scene after taking clothing items. The victim was not injured during the incident.

The suspects were described as follows:

#1-Black male, mid 20 years old, clean shaven, dark complexion, 6’0″, 160 lbs, wearing a white hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and black shoes.

#2-Black male, mid 20 year old, clean shaven, dark complexion, 6’2″, 160 lbs, wearing a black fitted coat, blue jeans.

This investigation is still ongoing.

 

US Bypass 20 one half mile East of 11th St

On Monday, November 13th, at around 3:40 AM, a tractor trailer was travelling westbound on US Bypass 20 just west of the 20th St overpass.  The tractor’s left front tire blew-out, the vehicle lost control, flipped over into the center median, and slid into the eastbound lanes, blocking eastbound traffic on US Bypass 20.  There were no injuries to the driver or anyone else.  The trailer’s cargo was milk.  There was NO Hazardous Materials situation at this scene.  Emergency crews arrived on-scene, and the tractor and trailer were safely removed at around 7:20 AM.   All east and westbound traffic on US Bypass 20 is now fully restored.
