Armed Robbery

On 1-13-19 at 10:49AM an unknown black male walked into the Family Dollar store at 715 Broadway armed with a handgun. The black male walked toward two store employees and pointed the handgun at them at which time both of the employees ran around the counter and ran out of the store. As the employees were exiting the store the black male suspect fired two shots at the employees missing them both. The black male suspect then fled the store himself on foot going east on Broadway. No property was taken from the store. The suspect is described as a black male, 6’02”, 170lbs, late 20s, possibly wearing a wig, Black hat, light blue bandana partially covering the face, black hoodie, grey pants, white shoes, and blue rubber gloves.

Aggravated Battery with Handgun

On Saturday, January 12th, at around 3:40 AM,  two Rockford residents were the victims of Aggravated Battery with a handgun while at a party in the 1500 block of West St.  The victims had friends transport them to a local hospital for treatment of what turned out to be non-life-threatening injuries.  This is an ongoing investigation.  Anyone with information concerning this incident is encouraged to contact the Rockford Police Department or Crime Stoppers – 815 963 STOP (7867).

Aggravated Battery with a Knife

Rockford Police Officers were called to 1005 Hess Court for a Disorderly Conduct complaint, where a victim had been pepper sprayed.  Upon arrival Officers located a victim suffering from being pepper sprayed.  While investigating this complaint, a walk in stabbing victim arrived at RMH at 2341 hours.  The victim of the stabbing (non-life threatening)  advised the stabbing happened at 1005 Hess Court and she was stabbed by another female.  The victim of the stabbing was in possession of an empty bottle of OC.

Both parties gave conflicting stories as to what happened and where it occurred.  Officers are still investigating and will review this case with SAO.
