Moving of Buildings
No building or structure or portion thereof, the moving of which is required by this article to be done by a licensed building mover, shall be moved in, along or through any public street, alley, thoroughfare, public park or other public ground, unless the licensee has first obtained a permit therefor from the building inspector.
Application for permit; approval, issuance
(a) Application for a permit required by section 105-248 shall be made in writing to the building inspector, describing the building or structure proposed to be moved, and stating where it is located, the place to which it is proposed to be moved, the route to be taken and the time probably required for such moving. The building inspector shall inspect or cause to be inspected all buildings proposed to be moved and may require such conditions for the execution of the proposed work as he may deem necessary for the preservation of the streets and other public property. If it shall appear to the building inspector that the work proposed to be done is in accordance with the ordinances of the city, they shall approve the application and issue the permit applied for.
(b) Moving of a house or structure shall be completed, graded and landscaped within 90 days unless extenuating weather circumstances prevail, at which time an additional 30 days could be granted by the building inspector.
Building Moving Contractors
No person, unless licensed hereunder, as a building mover, shall move any building or structure or portion thereof, in, along, upon or through any public street, alley, thoroughfare, public park or other public grounds.

** Where building is small (not more than 16 feet wide), a building movers license is not required. However, a permit and proof of insurance are required.
