Office of Professional Standards
The Rockford Police Department Office of Professional Standards (OPS) is under the command of Deputy Chief Robert Reffett and consists of Internal Affairs and Administrative Review Process. The Office of Professional Standards may be contacted Monday through Friday between 8 am to 5 pm at 779-500-6900. Email the Office of Professional Standards at any time.
The Office of Professional Standards evaluates the Department's policies, procedures, and training. OPS also performs investigations of internal matters through objective and comprehensive investigations into the department or employee misconduct. The OPS safeguards the integrity and professionalism of the Department.

Complaints (RPD Personnel)
All RPD personnel complaints are reviewed and taken very seriously. The Rockford Police Department deeply respects the privacy of its citizens. We will not release your name or contact information except as necessary to resolve your complaint. If you wish to file a complaint anonymously, you may leave out your name and contact information in the File a Complaint form. This form should not be used to report a crime in progress.
You may also file a complaint by contacting Rockford Police Internal Affairs - Lieutenant Mark Sander at 779-500-6900, email the Office of Professional Standards, or pick up a complaint form from any of the police district stations in the City of Rockford.
