Health Insurance Plan (Medical, Dental, Prescription)

The plan provides comprehensive coverage through a self-insured medical plan, with the choice of a traditional or high deductible PPO, which includes a prescription drug benefit and a fully-insured dental plan.

Wellness Center

The City of Rockford opened the City of Rockford Wellness Center in September 2014. The Wellness Center is operated by Marathon Health, one of the nation's leading providers of worksite healthcare. The care Marathon Health provides is very similar to the care provided by a primary care provider. Services include care for common illnesses and injuries, lab draws, routine physical exams, and immunizations. In addition to helping you when you aren't well, the Wellness Center offers health coaching to address lifestyle health risks such as stress, diet. tobacco use, and physical inactivity, as well as, chronic condition management for conditions such as diabetes, heart problems, or asthma. Paid Time Off

Employees receive paid time off benefits including vacation, holiday, sick, and bereavement.

Retirement / Pension Plans

Employees contribute to a defined benefit pension plan, which provides a monthly income at retirement based on the employee's earnings, age, and years of service.

Deferred Compensation Plan

The Deferred Compensation (457) plan allows employees to save for retirement by contributing to an account through pre-tax payroll deductions. There are three providers from which to choose, each offering numerous investment options. A Roth account is available for after-tax contributions.

Group Term Life Insurance with AD&D

Employees are provided with $25,000 of life insurance with an additional $50,000 in accidental death and dismemberment at no cost.

Optional Term Life Insurance with AD&D

In addition to the basic group term coverage provided, employees may purchase term life insurance for themselves and their dependents. Coverage is available to new employees and dependents with "guaranteed issue" coverage up to set amounts.

Voluntary Vision Plan

Employees may elect to purchase vision benefits via pre-tax deductions.

Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA)

A convenient way to save through pre-tax payroll deductions for everyday medical and dependent care expenses.

Employee Assistance Plan (EAP)

Available free of charge to all employees and members of their household is a confidential source for support and counseling. The EAP also includes non-traditional services such as legal and financial resources, and online tools and information.
