Building Board of Appeals

Any person shall have the right to appeal a decision of the code official to the board of appeals.

An application for appeal shall be based on a claim that:

  1. The true intent of this code or the rules legally adopted there under have been incorrectly interpreted,
  2. The provisions of this code do not fully apply, or
  3. An equally good or better form of construction is proposed. The board shall have no authority to waive the requirements of the code.

To file for an appeal, send a letter stating one of the above claims. In the case of an appeal under claim 3, present the proposed equally good or better form of construction.

The board meets only when there's an appeal or when it otherwise elects to do so.
