The Water Division is comprised of three operating sections and Administration. The Division is responsible for production, quality control, water treatment, distribution, and related services to approximately 55,000 water customers.

Consumer Confidence Report
The Consumer Confidence Report, or CCR, is an annual water quality report that the Safe Drinking Water Act requires a community water system to provide to its customers. The report lists the regulated contaminants found in the drinking water, as well as health effects information related to violations of the drinking water standards.

Environmental Laboratory
The City of Rockford Environmental laboratory will accept water samples collected by contractors, well operators, well drillers, and public water system operators as long as they are submitted in approved sample bottles.

Lead & Drinking Water
Lead is not present in Rockford’s source water (groundwater), nor is Lead in Rockford’s treated drinking water. However, if buildings have water service lines made of Lead, Lead can enter the drinking water through the corrosion of plumbing materials.

Per- and poly-fluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) are a group of man-made chemicals that have been in use since the 1940s, and are (or have been) found in many consumer products like cookware, food packaging, and stain repellants.
